Rondo Normandy (Impostor)

Rondo Normandy!

A feminist man as sweet as candy!

As passive and peaceful as Gandhi!

Although serious, he's as smooth as brandy!

He loves women on the news team he thinks they're handy!

And when it's time to say goodbye he says "bye San Diego, stay classy!"

Short Composition

For my challenge I was presented with the argument that equality would cause a problem rather than a solution because men and women relied on each other's differences to complement each other. I responded with three arguments, the first being that the social standard of a gender was defined thousands of years ago and it is wrongful to still believe that those archaic ideals are the correct ones. My second argument was loosely based on the movie that was assigned to me, which was "The Ugly Truth". My argument was that society takes these established gender standards and manifests them in the shape of stereotypes. These are then used to tell people how a "man" or a "woman" should behave.

As a result, people are brainwashed into believing men should be violent and reckless while women have to be passive and submissive. Both being completely unrealistic and incorrect, because we should be free to choose how we want to behave. Which brings me to my final argument which is how we don't need to rely on each other's differences because these differences don't exist! These differences are the result of gender stereotypes that have been fed to humans for generations. I believe that both men and women are fully capable of taking care of themselves without the need of the opposite sex, as both can do the same tasks with equal efficiency.

Feminist Majority Foundation ( FMF )

In the U.S, one of the most commonly known feminist organization is the Feminist Majority Foundation (FMF). Founded in 1987, the FMF's main goal is to achieve women's equality, promote reproductive health and end violence. For 27 years the FMF has helped empower women economically, socially and politically through peaceful means. These means are what they call "research and action".

Their research and action program focuses on advancing legal, social, and political equality of women with men. They do this by participating in leadership training, development programs, among other things. This foundation has helped women develop on a global scale and is currently growing. With the help of thr FMF who educates and promotes the equality of women on a global scale we're one step closer to achieving equality.

BREAK FREE FROM STEREOTYPES

Letter to my highschool teacher

Dear Prof. Lucena;

I hope that you're doing well. My name is Kevin Sánchez as you may remember me I was a former student of yours in highschool. I am now currently studying Biology at the UPR in Cayey. I am currently contacting you to let you know about the gender inequality that we are facing here in Puerto Rico and all over the world. Knowing that you're a very influential teacher that has great communication with his students and coworkers, I believe that you can help spread the word to our youth and our educators.

Furthermore, I believe that our children and youth are constantly bombarded with sexist remarks and gender stereotypes. Both of these are very common products of today's media that surrounds all of us. I consider that I can make a change by helping break these stereotypes, but I can't do it all by myself.

Like I had mentioned before, with your help, along with more educators, we can help spread the word and make a change and bring down these archaic beliefs and step by step help make this a better place. Not just for us, but for the next generation and those to come.

I am very grateful for your attention and hope you consider this with all the seriousness it deserves.I hope you have a wonderful semester!

Sincerely, Kevin Sánchez

Since the beginning of civilization gender inequality has been a recurring problem we still face even now in modern times. Society must find a way to break free ir these made-up stereotyped and should allow our future generations to be free to choose who they want to be. In modern times, both sexes are oppressed by the gender that society labels them as. We have all heard the phrases "Real men don't cry!" and "Women belong in the kitchen", and since we all have, it means that it's time for a change.
